Performance Improvement Pack
Resource 1: Managing the Poor Performer Managing the Poor Performer provides masses of practical support and proven tools, techniques and skills to give your managers the confidence and ability to deal with poor performers in your organisation. This training manual will equip your managers with the skills to quickly spot changes in behaviour and performance, and identify the reasons behind these changes. Causes of poor performance are broken down into a framework in terms of willingness to work, and ability to perform required tasks. This framework enables your managers to objectively assess the under-performer, and identify steps to improve performance. Resource 2: Motivation in Practice Motivation in Practice delivers hands-on training activities that transform key motivational theories into practice. Using this pack will help your managers establish what motivates individuals and teams. Your managers will practise and develop the skills necessary to motivate their people, to produce real commitment and higher performance. Motivation in Practice puts key motivational theories into context, explaining them in relation to real people, and real issues that your managers face on a day-to-day basis. They’re all clearly explained in jargon-free terms. In addition, you’ve got ready-to-run activities that apply motivation to day-to-day management issues such as team briefings and performance reviews. Resource 3: Managing Tricky Situations Involving People at Work Enable your managers to skilfully deal with a wide variety of awkward people situations, which left un-addressed can cause stress, poor performance and loss of morale. Situations like ‘What do you do if someone has a row and walks out?’, ‘How do you deal with damaging office gossip?’, ‘How do you say ‘no’ to an unreasonable request?’. Give your managers step-by-step problem-solving frameworks to help them deal professionally with awkward situations in the workplace, to get performance back on track with a minimum of disruption. Resource 4: Setting Objectives and Seeing Them Through These 16 activities enable you to focus on the responsibility everybody has for creating objectives that not only develop the individual, but also contribute to the overall goals of your organisation. Participants learn how to agree and monitor objectives that are (and remain) current, relevant and focused – and therefore much more likely to be seen through to completion. The activities draw upon your participants’ own work environment to develop objectives that are relevant and immediately useful. There is also a generous selection of roleplays, case studies and examples based on real situations taken from a range of organisations.
