Hopscotch: Step into Change DVD

Hopscotch: Step into Change DVD

Hopscotch is a blend of imagery, music and words that combine to help generate support, feedback, creativity and a willingness to embrace learning and change.

This DVD programme can be used to open or close a training session where the audience needs to be engaged in the change process. It can be used as a stand-alone product for short, sharp sessions, or it can be blended into an extended workshop, to complement other resources and approaches.

Hopscotch works by taking us back us back to our childhood. It reminds us that there can be joy in the simple act of experiencing life, companionship and learning:

Children fear what they don't know, adults fear what they do know. Our experience of the world makes us build structures of safety (behaviours) that put limits on the way we are prepared to relate to the world in order to avoid the harm, hurt and humiliation that we may have already suffered in the past. These behaviours narrow our options, diminish our personalities and reduce our ability to venture into the unknown. In order to change an organisation, you must first change the attitudes and beliefs of its people. People will usually resist change where they feel it is being imposed on them, but their behaviours may change as a result of new personal insights.

Hopscotch is a complete concept for opening viewers' minds to change. It is not a psychoanalytical tool but it does ask participants to acknowledge the importance of 'baggage' in determining how they see the world and how they set their own limits.
