In this training activity participants will have two short case studies to read out to a partner to practise using their skills of active listening.
In this training activity, participants read short case studies aloud to each other, and then write down what they remember. The exercise is undertaken in pairs, and each takes turns to read and to listen. Participants listen to their partner reading the first piece, and then write down what they remember. Then they hear a second piece, and make notes while listening. Participants then compare results. They work in pairs to complete the training activity and then develop rules for active listening. This training activity can be used as an energiser to help participants realise the importance of active listening in disciplinary and grievance interviews.
