It is common knowledge that two heads are better than one but, what about a team of eight or ten of twelve? The combined knowledge of the team could be immense. This is also common knowledge, but is very often untapped. By talking together and brainstorming ideas and knowledge, a team can work much more efficiently. Not only can they become more efficient through implementing shared ideas, but the environment will become much more productive and motivated. The training activity addresses this issue by showing that each person has an equal part to play and that information from each person must be tapped in order to get the job done efficiently and effectively.

Participants work as a group to lift half a broom handle out of a tube and then carry it to, and place it in another tube 10-20 metres away. The group may only use strong cotton to lift and carry the handle and must not have any direct physical contact with it.

Who is it for: This training resource is intended for use by trainers to show participants that agreeing a pre-planned process as a team will help to enhance the effectiveness of how the end result is achieved.
