Choosing the right method of communication is as important as the communication itself. If managers/leaders consider this and actively plan prior to any communication, they can realistically expect to get a better return. Each member of a team will react to direction/management differently, and will need to be communicated with individually, in order to achieve the best results. This indoor/outdoor training activity addresses the issue by showing that in order for the task objective to be met efficiently and effectively, each participant must be led in a way that motivates that individual.

Working as a team, a nominated leader guides the team in the development of a picture made up of string. Communication with the team must be handled very well in order to complete the task within the given time frame.

Who is it for: This training resource is intended for use by trainers to enable participants to understand effective communication and highlights issues associated with not understanding aspirations within the team, and identifying ways in which performance can be enhanced.
