Many of us recognise that, if we didn’t have to put up with constant interruptions, we’d be able to get so much more done. Periods of uninterrupted concentration do not happen often enough. Although it is not possible to eliminate interruptions, this training activity explores practical ways in which they can be controlled by analysing the key types of interruptions that commonly occur and the practical steps which can be taken to help gain valuable additional time.
You begin this training activity by giving the participants the opportunity, individually, to explore the key types of interruptions they receive. Then, in small groups, they go on to discuss the various practical steps which can be taken to manage these. Finally, group members complete their individual action plans to identify specific actions they personally intend to take.

This training activity is particularly beneficial for those who find they don’t achieve as much as they could because they don’t manage their interruptions.
