Mentoring is one of the many tools managers have when deciding on how to develop a mixed-age workforce.
This training activity requires participants to identify the appropriate behaviour and communication skills demonstrated by effective mentors. It has been designed to stand alone but can also be linked with ‘Developing your workforce’, which reviews a variety of helping and development styles available to a manager.
Who is it for: This training resource is intended for use by trainers acting as facilitators, but managers, coaches, colleagues or consultants can readily facilitate this training activity.

Purpose: This training resource is intended for use by trainers to give the participants an opportunity to review the most important behaviours demonstrated by an effective mentor, and to write an action play which they can use to develop their mentoring skills.
