This short energiser tests participants’ knowledge and understanding of factors to take into account when deciding on what disciplinary penalty to set. The training activity will help participants consider cases on an individual basis, whilst also ensuring that there is fairness and consistency across the organisation. Organisational and employee-related factors are considered, in order to help achieve this balance.
A short energiser that tests knowledge and understanding of the factors to consider when deciding on what disciplinary penalty to set. The training activity is designed to help participants consider cases on an individual basis, whilst also ensuring that there is fairness and consistency across the organisation. Participants read the case study and complete the quiz. The training activity needs very little introduction and the trainer’s main role is to facilitate the feedback session and debrief. Participants work individually to complete the training activity, and need no previous experience. This training activity is a useful way of introducing the concept of treating cases on their own merit, rather than taking a blanket approach to setting penalties. If you have more experienced participants, you will find instructions for an alternative approach in the ‘Variation’ section. Here the participants write the quiz, using a separate handout.
