The bigger a business becomes and the faster it grows, the harder it is for each department to keep track of what the others do in terms of their objectives and targets. It may seem irrelevant, but everything any employee does has an impact on another employee. Understanding the level of impact can have quite staggering results on the efficiency of the business if from the understanding comes a tangible action that will improve the communication between departments. It also has an impact on the speed at which organisational goals are met. This training activity addresses the issue by showing that different departments with the same overall goal need to communicate effectively with each other in order to develop a process that helps them meet their goals/objectives in the most efficient manner.
In small teams, the participants will have objectives that take them in a different direction to the others. They are, however, connected by cotton thread and so they must communicate well in order to get each of the team objectives completed within the given time-frame without breaking the cotton.
