This training activity explains that many people are involved in roles where they have to regularly meet new people. It is important, therefore, to make a favourable first impression and go on to build a relationship based on mutual interest and understanding.
This activity has been designed to be delivered either as a stand-alone session on building and developing rapport, or to be used as a part of any management and interpersonal skills development programme. The training activity covers the skills that underpin other approaches to interpersonal communication. It provides the additional benefits of breaking the ice between participants on any training event, and introducing them to new concepts and skills.
Who is it for: This training resource is intended for use by trainers acting as facilitators, but managers, coaches, colleagues or consultants can readily facilitate this training activity.
