This training activity reviews the programme of learning events and identifies any actions which might be taken by organisations or groups. The mutual mentor pairs also set out what they are going to do after the learning events. The training activity could lead into ‘Were Your Expectations Met?, which reviews, evaluates and closes the learning events.
Participants work in their mentor pairs, but not as mentor and mentee. They consider the programme of learning activities and identify any unanswered questions. They also decide whether anyone else needs to know about any aspect of the work they have done together, and if so, how this is to be done. Finally, they review their plans to work together in a mentor pair in future, clarify for one another what they are going to do, and identify any help they need from anyone else. You lead a discussion in the full group: to discover and answer any remaining questions that people have; to discuss what issues should be taken to people outside the learning group (say, to an employer or a professional institute) and how this is to be done; to check that the mentor pairs are ready to proceed; and to discover and discuss what help, if any, the mentor pairs want in future.

Purpose: Use this near the end of a series of learning activities, especially if you are working with people who all come from one organisation, and you want to relate the activities to a wider context. The training activity also helps to check that the mentor pairs are ready to work together and sets up any support system that they feel they need. You might run ‘Were Your Expectations Met?’ either just before or just after ‘Where Do We Go From Here?’ to end the series of learning activities.
