Successful organisations have a clear sense of where they are going – they have a vision in the form of a clear, exciting, challenging goal. However, despite research that demonstrates conclusively that all successful individuals, teams and organisations need such goals, it is unusual to find any. This training activity explores that contradiction.

Participants draw on their own experiences to conclude that a clear goal is an essential part of a successful team. They then reflect on their attitudes to different kinds of organisational goals to discover what kinds of goals are most likely to lead organisations to success.
