For a business to function efficiently, objectives need to be communicated clearly and concisely. All employees need to fully understand the goals and daily objectives which, if they are completed, will get them closer to the target. When a business fails to communicate objectives properly there is a greater chance of employees moving in a different direction. They may still meet the objectives, but not necessarily in the most efficient of effective manner. The training activity addresses this issue by showing that clear communication is essential if the desired outcome is to be met.
Participants work in small teams of three, and individuals are named general, coach and player. The general communicates an image to the coach. Then the coach communicates the image to the player, who draws it.
Who is it for: This training resource is intended for use by trainers to highlight to participants the need for careful consideration of the methods of communication to be used, before setting objectives for others, or requesting help.
