It’s easy to rush along and do the first thing that comes to mind. This training activity is designed to help the participants see how good they are at making decisions under pressure.

After a short briefing you will divide the participants into teams and set them off on a fast and furious planning exercise, with a limited timescale and three different performance criteria to take into account. (The briefing is deliberately short in order to engender a feeling of panic in the participants!). You then reform the main group and the teams perform the task competitively. Afterwards, you review the results to see who was most effective. The training activity closes with a discussion about what makes for effective judgement under pressure.
