The way we respond to any situation depends very much on the way we feel – our emotional state. We are more likely to deal with a situation effectively when we feel confident and alert than when we are anxious and exhausted. This is especially true for leaders, whose actions are often in the limelight. This training activity shows participants how to manage their emotional state.
After introducing the concept of emotional state, you invite the participants to brainstorm some strategies for putting themselves into a good state should they get off to a bad start. They then apply these strategies to a range of situations.
Who is it for: This training resource is intended for use by trainers to introduce the concept of emotional state. The participants go on to develop and apply some strategies to improve their own emotional state.
