Tracking absenteeism is a vital part of attendance management. This training activity is designed to help participants think about how they monitor and track absenteeism. It looks at various methods, using charts and graphs.
You begin this training activity with a brief introduction and ask the participants to work in groups to think of different ways of tracking absenteeism and note the pros and cons of each method they identify. You then lead a plenary session to review their ideas and discuss the pros and cons of each one. Next, the participants return to their groups to work on three different case studies before discussing their ideas in a further plenary session. The participants then work individually to answer a set of questions and produce an action plan to take back to their work places. Finally, you summarise the training activity by emphasising key points.
