You only have to type the words into a search engine to realise that much has been written on motivational needs. People are all different and no assumptions should be made about what motivates them. Everyone must be treated as an individual with their own particular needs.

This activity helps participants to produce a motivational profile of a member of staff by use of a questionnaire. Through discussion, participants identify appropriate actions to motivate individuals. The training activity can be used alone, or in conjunction with the activities ‘Mid-life planning’, ‘Thinking ahead to retirement’, and/or ‘What are you going to do with the rest of your life?’

Who is it for: This training resource is intended for use by trainers acting as facilitators, but managers, coaches, colleagues or consultants can readily facilitate this training activity.
