This training activity follows on from ‘How good are you now? (1), where participants’ current performance levels were observed and they created their initial presentation goals. In this activity, they present their goals, continue to build up a picture of their performance, and commit to their final improvement plan. Together, these two sessions inform the future activities to choose and use to develop each individual.

To begin this training activity, you ask the participants to prepare and deliver a 10-minute performance that outlines their presentation goals from ‘How good are you now? (1)’. This is observed and assessed using a tightly-structured checklist. They give and receive feedback from a partner, which focuses on their performance and the validity of their goals. To close the training activity, the participants complete their improvement plan and take away their videotapes to review as a reminder of their improvement targets.

Who is it for: This training resource is intended for use by trainers as a reminder of the basic principles for delivering a memorable presentation, finishing with a tailored action plan to use with each participant to choose appropriate further activities and development.
