Getting into the habit of looking back over and forward to our experiences helps develop an active use of the learning cycle and promotes effective learning.
This training activity starts with the participants making brief statements about their skills so far in learning to learn and about their future needs. They then complete a questionnaire about personal approaches to learning. Pairs work to consider personal learning objectives and how to meet these using a prospective approach. The group then brainstorm and discuss ideas for keeping to learning plans, and end the activity by completing a retrospective learning log.
Who is it for: This training activity is intended for use by trainers to enable participants recognise and practise using proactive and reactive approaches to learning.
