This training resource comprises a case study that represents the fourth part of a disciplinary interview – using questioning to gain information.
This training resource uses a case study to illustrate different question types. The participants read the dialogue between the manager and the employee, and identify the different types of question, and the reasons why each is used. The training activity can also be used to conclude a session on questioning skills. The trainer’s role is to record the feedback from each pair on a flipchart. Participants work individually, and then check their understanding with a partner before feeding back to the main group.
Who is it for: This training resource is intended for use by trainers with supervisors, team leaders and managers who are responsible for managing themselves and others.
