We all have different learning styles and we also all have a multitude of techniques to make our learning more effective. Sharing these techniques will enable others to improve their learning effectiveness.

This training activity starts with the group brainstorming a list of the learning techniques they currently use and then each participant selects one that they personally use. Individuals prepare a 5-minute presentation on their chosen learning technique which they then deliver to the rest of the group. The activity ends with the completion of a learning log.

Who is it for: This training activity is intended for use by trainers to enable participants to rehearse and teach techniques that they use to help their learning.

Additional resources: Small index cards, Book or suitable text for 'speed reading', CD player and CDs, Tape recorder with musical and blank tapes.

Purpose: This activity is best attempted when participants have worked together for some time so that there is a good deal of trust between them. It can be used as part of a learning to learn programme or any programme where study skills are important.
