Training courses are extremely valuable but sometimes it can be very difficult for participants to successfully apply the new skills they have learnt when they return to their desks. In this training activity the group members have the opportunity to pull together all the action points they have identified in individual activities into one overall summary document. It also helps them identify the potential problems they may face when trying to implement their action points and offers practical follow-up evaluations to help participants turn their ideas into action.

You give participants an ‘overall course action plan’ to complete as the basis of a contract between trainer and participant. You then ask them to identify the potential rewards to be gained from improved time effectiveness. This is followed by a group evaluation in which participants are asked to explore the barriers they may face in implementing these action points and to evaluate possible solutions. Finally, you book a follow-up review date with each participant to help provide the support they need to make the changes stick.
