To be effective, a team needs to know how to work cohesively, that is, as an efficient, organised whole. In this training activity, the success of the task the group is given depends on their working together cohesively.
You explain that the purpose of this training activity is to explore the concept of team cohesiveness and then brief the team to build a raft and launch it successfully. After the life raft exercise, you lead a debriefing session to consider the issue of team cohesiveness. Participants then work in pairs to explore this issue in their working lives and how they can improve this aspect of their team leading.
