An effective, well-planned process within any team is, as we already know, absolutely vital. How can we expect the team to work as a team when it does not have a structure to work to? We know the negative effect that a lack of structure has on productivity, but some businesses do not deal with the problem, and consequently suffer losses. The training activity addresses this issue by showing that a process needs to be planned in order for it to be completed successfully.

In small teams, participants create a design using coloured string by attaching it to four pegs. The designs of all teams must be identical in every way, but only one participant from each team may observe the other teams and their progress.

Who is it for: This training resource is intended for use by trainers as an outdoor training activity to help participants understand the relevance of pre-planning and communication between teams in order for departments/teams to head in the same direction and meet organisational goals efficiently.
