In any team different members naturally do things in their own preferred ways; one member may be the ‘driving force’ behind the team, pushing it to achieve results; another may be the one to ‘tidy up the loose ends’. These different ways of operating, or ‘team roles’, were first identified by Dr R Meredith Belbin.
The participants study the descriptions of the various roles in a team. Working in teams, they then match the definitions to the pictures of the team roles. There is a final consolidation discussion in which participants can also specify a preference for working in a particular role.
