How many of us accept projects/challenges, and with fire in our bellies we jump in with complete focus – only to find out that someone else has done something like this before, and we could have saved hours of work if only we had known? How many of us have dived into a team project, only to discover that we are duplicating individual activities, or not all going in the same direction? Most people in business today will relate to such scenarios, and will probably have experienced this more than once. These issues are so common that in some cases it is almost an accepted fact of life. In real terms we may still be making a profit and doing well, but it shouldn’t stop there. Greater efficiency through better planning, improved processes and more reflection on quality produces more profit, a more motivated workforce and a more secure future for everyone. This training activity addresses these issues by showing that teamwork and good communication, and reviewing the overall situation, will aid efficiency in producing the desired result.
In teams of three or four, participants build 10cm cubes from very limited resources. The cubes will be displayed for a quality inspection by the trainer at the end of the allocated production time.
