The way any course begins is of crucial importance, both to participants and to trainers. A weak start can jeopardise the achievement of the required outcomes, while a training resource such as this one will clear the way for real progress.

The participants compare their assumptions of the image they present with the impressions formed by others. It does not matter whether participants know each other or not. The basis of their judgement will be different according to the level of knowledge they have of each other, varying from first impressions of a stranger to friendship with a colleague. If the participants are unfamiliar with each other, name cards should be put in front of each for ease of identification. Although it does not matter if participants know who is writing about them, it is preferable that they do not.

Who is it for: This training resource is intended for use by trainers to enable participants to compare their assumptions of the image they present with the impressions formed by others, clearing the way for real progress and allowing time to get to know each other.
