‘Relax? With this job? You must be joking’. Relaxation has become associated with ‘time off’ – it’s playing a round of golf, watching the TV, taking a holiday. In a stricter sense, relaxation does in fact refer to the ability to release tension from the muscles. They are techniques we need to learn if we are to perform stress management in the workplace.
Through plenary instruction and discussion in this training activity, participants learn about the importance of relaxation in stress management. Working on their own, participants try a variety of relaxation techniques.
Who is it for: This training activity is intended for use by trainers to demonstrate to participants that releasing tension is an important aspect of stress management in the workplace.
